Health care becomes the last bill that people pay. A program like GHP that is low cost, helps them get their medicines and see doctors that they otherwise would not be able to see. In the long run, it actually saves them money. Genesee Health Plan (GHP) was launched in 2001 and has been providing basic health services to Genesee County residents who don’t have health insurance. GHP was the first county health plan in Michigan funded directly by the community through a special millage. No millage dollars are spent on administration. Since 2001, more than $300 million has been spent by GHP on direct medical claims for health care services in Genesee County. $ How Funds are Used 4 ge n esee H ea lth P l a n Dr. Keith Daniels paid for Prescriptions $44,077,174 paid for Mental Health Services $2,511,398 paid for Dental Services $5,275,006 paid for Laboratory And X-Ray Services $26,261,943 $100,555,675 paid for Doctor Visits Millage Funded Services
