More About Aspen Dental’s Healthy Mouth Movement
People who want a healthy mouth often struggle to find oral health care when they need it due to limited access to dentists, high costs, or lack of insurance. This is a particularly challenging issue for U.S. veterans – the majority of which are not eligible for dental benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Only veterans who are 100 percent disabled, have a service-related injury to their mouths, or were a prisoner of war receive dental coverage.
This is not acceptable to doctors from Aspen Dental practices, so they decided to do something about it.
As a result, the Healthy Mouth Movement (HMM) was launched in 2014 and since that time has provided free dental care to veterans in need in communities across the U.S. In fact, more than 17,000 patients in 37 states have received over $10 million in free dental care through the program thanks to the generosity of dentists and team members from Aspen Dental practices.
Aspen Dental branded dental practices are independently owned and operated by licensed dentists. For more information about the relationship between Aspen Dental Management, Inc. and the branded practices, please visit www.aspendental.com.
