2019 Health Heritage Essay and Scholarship Contests


Welcome to the 4th Annual Genesee Health Plan Health Heritage Essay Contest, open to middle/junior high and high school students (grades 6-12) in Genesee County.  Students are encouraged to speak with their family members to learn about their family health history. Essay should address the student’s family health history, with a focus on oral health and its impact on their overall health and wellbeing.  Essays can be submitted by email to:  healtheritage@countyhealthplans.org.  For more information about the essay contest and to submit an essay, see “FOR STUDENTS-ESSAY CONTEST” section below.

The 2nd Annual Health Career Scholarship Contest is open to high school seniors in Genesee County planning to pursue a career on oral health.  Essay must include the oral health career chosen and why; the importance of oral health and its effect on physical health, and how oral health shapes future success.  Essays must be submitted by email to:  healthheritage@countyhealthplans.org.  For more information about the scholarship contest and to submit an essay, see “FOR SENIORS-SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST” section below.

This year, Genesee Health Plan has partnered with the Delta Dental Foundation of Michigan to co-sponsor both essay contests.
