Genesee Health Plan staff team up to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County

March 11, 2020

GHP staff members helped to raise $1,000 to donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County (BBBS) from February 1 – March 10, 2020 through a series of fundraisers. The funds raised by GHP staff will support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint efforts which ensure that all youth achieve their full potential by creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

GHP staff also participated in the 41st Annual Gary Haggart Bowl for Kids’ Sake, BBBS largest annual fundraiser.  This year, GHP had 20 staff participate in the bowling fun! BBBS raised $49,360 in corporate sponsorships from the bowling fundraiser, working towards a total goal of $130,000.  GHP is proud of its staff and partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint to support the great work they do in the community by nurturing our youth to help build their futures. GHP is defending that potential.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has been around since 1904 and operated under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential.  BBBS is the largest donor-and volunteer-supported mentoring network, creating meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country.
