HealthCare.Gov Marketplace Open Enrollment is now Closed

You may qualify for Medicaid or a *Special Enrollment Period* if:

You have recently been laid off, lost your job and your health care coverage: If you are unsure about what coverage you may qualify for and not sure where to get help, Genesee Health Plan (GHP) is here to help you and your family in Genesee, Saginaw and Bay Counties with your health care enrollment and re-enrollment needs. GHP is able to offer these enrollment services into the HealthCare.Gov Marketplace with the support of its second federal Navigator Cooperative Agreement Award from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). If you’re a Genesee County resident and do not qualify for enrollment into the HealthCare.Gov Marketplace or Medicaid, call us Toll Free at 844-232-7740 and ask an Enrollment Specialist for information about Genesee Health Plan, which you may qualify for. GHP is only available to Genesee County residents.

You are a member of a federally recognized tribe or shareholder of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA):

You can enroll into a HealthCare Marketplace plan all year round. If you are an American Indian or an Alaskan Native, you can enroll at any time and change your plan up to once a month AND if your income is between 100-300% of the Federal Poverty Level, you can enroll in a “zero cost sharing” plan where you would have ZERO out of pocket costs (deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance). Genesee Health Plan (GHP) is here to help you and your family in Genesee, Saginaw and Bay Counties with your health care enrollment and re-enrollment needs.

Additional Special Enrollment Period Qualifications/Information:

Examples of Special Enrollment Qualifications are:

  • Loss of health coverage
  • Change in household size
  • Change in residence (zip code)
  • Citizenship status change
  • Release from incarceration
  • Marriage
  • Denied Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) coverage outside of open enrollment after you applied during open enrollment

* SEP are valid within 60 days of change Call our office at 844-232-7740 to speak to an Enrollment Specialist if you believe you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Over-the-phone, virtual or in-person appointments available. 

Now that open enrollment is closed, GHP can still assist you with questions about your HealthCare.Gov Marketplace plan or assist if you’re new to Marketplace.

Tax Tools provide consumers with the information they need to file IRS Forms 8962 (to calculate their premium tax credit (PTC)) and 8965 (to claim an affordability exemption for 2018). They are generally used by consumers who did not receive advanced payments of PTC (APTC) during the year, or who did not receive a 1095-A
