Genesee Health Plan was honored to join the Voice’s for Children Advocacy Center for their annual 2023 Children’s Champion Awards Breakfast! This event recognizes the amazing citizens and organizations in the Flint/Genesee County area who dedicate their time to helping children in the community.
Our very own Virginia Riggs was nominated for the Roy E. Peterson Caring Adult Award for her collaboration with Sleep in Heavenly Peace last September. Virginia organized an event for National Building Bunks Across America Day to build beds for children in the Genesee County area. With the help of students, volunteers, and her fellow community health workers, Virginia’s project resulted in 30 twin-size beds/bunk beds for students in need!
We are so proud of Virginia and her passion for helping children in Flint/Genesee County community.
