What is the Prescription Assistance Program?

GHP has caring, trained staff to help you get prescriptions that are not covered by your health plan.

Our staff will:

• Help you apply for free or reduced cost medications directly from the drug/pharmaceutical company.
• Assist in finding programs and community resources that may provide you with your prescription medication.
• Work with your primary care physician to meet your medication needs.

What is the cost?

There is no cost for using GHP Prescription Assistance. However, some of the programs may have fees. You will be informed of any possible costs.  

How do I get started?

Call the GHP Prescription Assistance Coordinator for more details and to schedule an appointment at 810-232-7740.  You do not need to be a member of GHP to participate in this program.

GHP/phone lines are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Genesee Health Plan (GHP) is open to the public for in-person, virtual, and over-the-phone appointments. To schedule an in-person, virtual, or over-the-phone appointment, please call 844-232-7740 and select option 0 for the operator.

What to bring:

• Original prescription for the needed medication
• Valid photo ID
• Social Security Card
• Proof of all household income for you, your spouse and all dependent children, dated within the last 30 days, including:
  • Paystubs, social security income, disability, rental income, unemployment and all other household income
• Proof of any child support and alimony paid out
• If self-employed:  bring your latest tax information (1040 & Schedule C)

GHP works with FamilyWize, SingleCare, and United Way to help individuals receive their medications at a discounted cost.

Dispensary of Hope-Genesee County Free Medical Clinic
