On Aug. 26, the Genesee Health Plan hosted a free, fun-filled evening for families and children during the third annual Movies in the Park in partnership with Burton Parks and Recreation as part of the “Movies on the Lawn Series.” This year’s event featured a showing of Disney’s Live Action “Beauty and the Beast.” More than 500 community members came out to the Burton Eagles Club for an enchanting evening under the stars. Local celebrity “stars” also stopped by to welcome guests to the event including Genesee County Commissioner Ellen Ellenberg and State Representative Tim Sneller.
The evening kicked off with a children’s craft corner presented by Flint Handmade.

There was also a bounce house obstacle course, complimentary snacks and glow sticks provided to attendees by GHP. GHP staff also helped families sign up for car seat checks through our partnership with the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD).

“We are delighted we could bring the community together through Movies in the Park,” said GHP President & CEO Jim Milanowski. “Our mission at the Genesee Health Plan is to increase access to health care while bringing the community together through healthy activities and programs. We are pleased to see so many families and children come out for such a fun event.”
