FLINT – Genesee Health Plan (GHP) today announced they will host a special healthcare enrollment discussion with U.S. Congressman Dan Kildee on Dec. 4. Congressman Kildee and GHP President and CEO Jim Milanowski will answer questions about health, healthcare coverage, open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and proposed legislative changes to the ACA.
There will be a Facebook livestream of the discussion starting at 11 a.m. for community members to attend the discussion virtually. Visit facebook.com/GeneseeHealthPlan to tune in. Viewers are encouraged to share the livestream video with friends and family.
The event is from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at GHP’s office, located at 2171 S. Linden Road in Flint, and is open to the public for healthcare enrollment. The Q&A session with Congressman Kildee will begin at 11:15 a.m. GHP staff will also be available to help community members sign up for healthcare coverage under the Genesee Health Plan, Healthcare Marketplace (Obamacare), Healthy Michigan Plan, MiChild/Healthy Kids and Medicaid and Flint Health Coverage for those impacted by the water crisis.
“Everyone in our community deserves access to quality healthcare coverage and GHP wants to make sure community members have the healthcare information they need so they can get enrolled in coverage by Dec. 15,” said Milanowski. “Congressman Kildee is a champion for quality healthcare in our community and we encourage anyone who has questions about healthcare enrollment, the Affordable Care Act or potential changes to healthcare to attend our event by joining the Facebook livestream.”
“Through December 15, Michiganders have the opportunity to get quality and affordable health insurance through the health insurance marketplace in Michigan,” Congressman Kildee said. “Your health should be a top priority, and one way to protect your family is to make sure that you have health insurance. Signing up for health insurance during open enrollment means you are taking action to protect against unexpected accidents or illness. Many Michigan families last year qualified for financial help with their premiums when they enrolled through the marketplace. I am grateful to have the Genesee Health Plan as a partner in making sure everyone in our community has access to quality and affordable care.”
The deadline to enroll in healthcare coverage through the Healthcare Marketplace is Dec. 15. For more information, visit GHP’s events calendar or geneseehealthplan.org or call 844.232.7740.
