FLINT – Genesee Health Plan (GHP) hosted a free Health Insurance Enrollment Forum with State Rep. Tim Sneller on Dec. 9 at the Grand Blanc Senior Center, 12623 Pagels Drive, Grand Blanc.
During the forum, community members received help navigating the Affordable Care Act’s Health Insurance Marketplace, the Genesee Health Plan, Healthy Michigan, Medicaid, and Flint Health Insurance for those impacted by Flint water. GHP staff were available to answer questions and give one-on-one enrollment assistance to residents. Attendees were also able to compare all coverage options and enroll in a plan that best fit their needs.
“Our number one goal at the Genesee Health Plan is to make sure all residents have access to quality health coverage,” said GHP President and CEO Jim Milanowski.
The deadline to enroll in healthcare coverage through the Healthcare Marketplace ended on Dec. 15. In order for coverage to take effect Jan. 1, individuals were to enroll into health coverage, find a plan and pay their premiums by the Dec. 15 deadline. “Making sure residents are enrolled in quality healthcare coverage is a key part of supporting good community health and keeping our community healthy,” said State Rep. Tim Sneller.
