FLINT – Genesee Health Plan (GHP) hosted a special healthcare enrollment discussion with U.S. Congressman Dan Kildee on Dec. 4. Congressman Kildee and GHP President and CEO Jim Milanowski answered questions about health, healthcare coverage, open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and proposed legislative changes to the ACA and how it could impact residents on a local level.

There was also a Facebook livestream of the discussion for community members to attend the virtually. Viewers were able to ask their questions about the ACA and open enrollment. Many viewers shared the video with their friends and family.
GHP staff were also available to help community members sign up for healthcare coverage under the Genesee Health Plan, Healthcare Marketplace (Obamacare), Healthy Michigan Plan, MiChild/Healthy Kids and Medicaid and Flint Health Coverage for those impacted by the water crisis.
“Everyone in our community deserves access to quality healthcare coverage and GHP wants to make sure community members have the healthcare information they need,” said Milanowski. “Congressman Kildee is a champion for quality healthcare in our community.”
“Your health should be a top priority, and one way to protect your family is to make sure that you have health insurance. Signing up for health insurance during open enrollment means you are taking action to protect against unexpected accidents or illness. Many Michigan families last year qualified for financial help with their premiums when they enrolled through the marketplace. I am grateful to have the Genesee Health Plan as a partner in making sure everyone in our community has access to quality and affordable care,” said Congressman Kildee.
