GHP Spotlight: Meet New GHP Board Member, Yaushica Aubert!

Yaushica Aubert, GHP Board Member and President/CEO of Valley Area Agency on Aging

Introducing new GHP Board member Yaushica Aubert, President & CEO of Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA).  Yaushica has worked in the field of aging since 1999.  Ms. Aubert has held many positions during her tenure at VAAA beginning as a Social Worker Care Manager, then lead Care Manager. In 2002 she became the Director of the MI CHOICE Waiver Program until 2008 when she became the Director of Planning and Contract Management, having oversight of the agency’s Multi-Year Plan development, contract management, Senior Wellness Services and other  programming.  In 2016 she was promoted to Vice- President of Operations.  As VP she was responsible for increasing community awareness of VAAA via branding and community outreach and implementing several programs, including Medicare fee for service programming, serving older adults and their families in Genesee, Lapeer and Shiawassee Counties (Michigan).

Ms. Aubert has a Bachelors of Administration in Social Work and her Master’s Degree in Public Administration.  She is excited to begin her work as a GHP Board member stating “GHP and Valley Area Agency on Aging make an excellent partnership.  I am excited to work with GHP; my goal is to be a value added member and discover ways to partner to provide quality services to the seniors in our area.  Most importantly, we want to help maintain the health, well being and independence of seniors to allow them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.  VAAA and GHP have been working together for quite some time and I am happy to grow our partnership to get the spread the word regarding the various types of programs we offer, such as Arthritis Exercise, Matter of Balance, Personal Action Toward Health including other programs and services that work in partnership with seniors, health care organizations, and doctors to address health challenges that prevent seniors from being their most healthy selves.  VAAA endeavors to meet the needs of all things senior”.  For more information on Valley Area Agency on Aging’s programs and services, please call 810-239-7671.
