We understand that making lifestyle changes aren’t easy, but we are here to help at every step of the journey to better health. Here are four simple ways women can take their health to the next level:
1. Schedule a doctor’s appointment and get screened. Whether you’re 25 or 65, it’s essential to schedule a yearly physical with your doctor, and schedule health screenings as needed. If you’re experiencing symptoms or changes in your body that might be signs of a serious condition, schedule an appointment immediately.
2. Call Genesee Health Plan for health care information and resources. Not only can we help you get enrolled in health care, but we can also connect you to valuable health care resources and tools in the community. Speak to a Health Navigator today by calling 844.232.7740 to learn about our resources.
3. Know your family health history. Many people don’t know their family health history. Find out if your family has a history of health conditions and share this information with your doctor. Your family health history plays a critical role in early detection, and making sure you’re taking steps towards a healthy lifestyle.
4. Create healthy habits. Living a healthier life doesn’t mean you have to make drastic changes all at once. Instead, incorporate small changes such as drinking more water, increasing physical activity, eating more fruits and vegetables, reducing intake of sugary drinks and getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night. These small changes can help you live a healthier life.
